Complex commercial contracts between governments and investors are part and parcel of our globalized economy. The impacts are enormous, with billions of dollars in investment and with a length of years to decades, these contracts have impacts on this generation as well as the next.
CONNEX and its network of experts help to balance the negotiation table through the sourcing of short-term, tailored multidisciplinary assistance to requesting governments. Thus far, CONNEX’s experts have advised 30 projects in 20 countries, to support government efforts to achieve a better deal. The stage of CONNEX’s involvement depends on the negotiation’s timing – either pre-negotiation or during the negotiation itself.
