Webinar July 7: Engaging with Mining Companies During COVID-19 and Beyond
COVID-19 is changing the world of mining in many ways. Projects have been put on hold for reasons ranging from health and safety considerations to a fall in commodity prices. Mining companies are responding in different ways, with some mooting engaging with governments regarding their contractual obligations. But how should governments prepare to engage with investors? What are investors likely to request of host governments? What should host governments be prepared to do – and not do? How can development partners support governments this agenda?
Join the CONNEX Support Unit on July 7, 2020 at 3:00pm CET, as experts discuss these issues. The webinar will focus on the questions above as well as how governments should prepare for the resumption of mining activities and for new investment inflows once an uptick in manufacturing leads to stronger demand for raw materials.
The webinar will last for an hour – from 3:00pm till 4:00pm CET
